[S1 E4] All About Cycle Syncing: Pt. 3 The synergy of strength training, cardio fitness & your cycle

The final installment in our menstrual cycle series (for now!)

If you are somebody who is new to cycle tracking and you haven’t listened to episodes 1 and 2 of this series, I highly suggest you go back and listen to those as well.

As you probably saw from the title, today we’re talking about syncing our cycle to our exercise, nutrition, mindset, work practices, etc. When we align our activities and our nourishment with our hormones and therefore our energy levels, we can find our balance a lot better in life versus when we’re just haphazardly steamrolling through life.

As females, we have really gotten disconnected from how important our cycle is for every single thing that goes on with us. And that's not just an opinion, that's an absolute fact. So today I’m sharing my knowledge and wisdom on how you can better manage your fitness goals with your cycle. I am going to walk you through each phase of the menstrual cycle with advice on how to best utilize each phase and listen to your body’s energy cues in order to achieve your fitness goals.

In today’s episode, we cover:

  • [00:02:15] Why it’s important to sync your cycle with your exercise, nutrition and mindset practices

  • [00:04:12] Period tracker apps and data security

  • [00:09:24] Cycle syncing and fitness; adjusting your workouts to each phase of your menstrual cycle

  • [00:16:09] Exercising during your follicular phase.

  • [00:18:25] Exercising during your ovulation and your luteal phase

  • [00:22:58] The importance of listening and nourishing your body
